Terms of Use

Welcome to ScootON! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, mobile application, and services. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.

1. Definitions

1.1. “ScootON” refers to the platform operated by Matrix iTechnologies  providing scooter rental services.
1.2. “User” refers to anyone accessing or using the platform, including renters and visitors.
1.3. “Verifier” refers to our staff responsible for document verification and bike handover.
1.4. “Services” refer to scooter rental and related offerings on the platform.

2. Eligibility

2.1. Users must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Aadhar Card and Driver’s License issued in India.
2.2. Users agree to provide accurate and truthful information during registration and booking.
2.3. ScootON reserves the right to deny service if eligibility criteria are not met.

3. Booking and Payment

3.1. Bookings can be made via the ScootON  app, subject to bike availability.
3.2. A minimum rental duration of one day applies.
3.3. Users must pay the full rental amount in advance through the available payment options.
3.4. Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the rental start time will receive a full refund.

    No refund will be provided for cancellations made within 24 hours of the rental start time, except the deposit for the bike paid by you.

    Once the cancellation is approved you will get the refund will be credited in 6 hours, on a working day, and in case of bank holidays next day in 6 hours.

4. Verification and Handover

4.1. Users must upload their Aadhar Card and Driver’s License during booking.
4.2. Verification of documents will be conducted in person at the time of bike pickup. Users must bring the original documents for verification.
4.3. ScootON staff reserve the right to deny handover if discrepancies are found in the documents.

5. User Responsibilities

5.1. Users must:

  • Use the scooter responsibly and adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Wear a helmet and ensure the safety of all riders.
  • Return the bike in the same condition as received.

5.2. Users are liable for:

  • Any damages caused to the vehicle during the rental period.
  • Traffic violations or fines incurred during the rental.
6. Prohibited Activities

Users must not:
6.1. Sublet or rent the scooter to a third party.
6.2. Use the scooter for illegal activities, racing, or stunts nor to transport and ferry any and all illegal contraband as per the Indian Government Laws .
6.3. Overload the scooter beyond its prescribed capacity.

7. Insurance and Liability

7.1. All scooters come with comprehensive insurance coverage. However, Users are liable for:

  • The deductible amount in case of an accident.
  • Damages not covered under the insurance policy.

7.2. ScootON is not responsible for personal injury, loss of belongings, or third-party claims arising from the use of the scooter.

8. Breakdown and Support

8.1. In case of a major breakdown, Users must immediately contact ScootON support via the app or helpline.
8.2. For minor issues such as flat tires, Users are expected to manage repairs independently.
8.3. ScootON will not reimburse expenses for breakdowns caused by user negligence.

9. Termination and Suspension

9.1. ScootON reserves the right to suspend or terminate a user’s account for:

  • Violating these Terms.
  • Engaging in fraudulent or abusive behavior.

9.2. Users may terminate their account by contacting customer support, subject to the settlement of any outstanding dues.

10. Intellectual Property

10.1. All content on the ScootON platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Matrix iTechnologies  and protected under Indian copyright laws.
10.2. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of platform content is strictly prohibited.

11. Privacy Policy

11.1. ScootON collects and processes user data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11.2. Users consent to the collection and use of their data for the purposes of providing the services.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be governed by the laws of India.
12.2. The courts of Mumbai shall have exclusive jurisdiction in resolving disputes.

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1. ScootON is not liable for:

  • Unforeseen events such as natural disasters or strikes affecting service availability.
  • Losses incurred due to user error or negligence.

13.2. In any event, ScootON’s liability is limited to the amount paid by the user for the rental.

14. Amendments

14.1. ScootON reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.
14.2. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or platform notifications.

15. Theft and User Liability

15.1. Users are fully responsible for the rented scooter from the time of handover until its return.
15.2. In the event of theft during the rental period, the User must:

  • Immediately report the theft to the nearest police station and provide a copy of the FIR to ScootON.
  • Inform ScootON via the app or helpline within 2 hours of the incident.

15.3. The User shall be liable for:

  • The market value of the scooter (after accounting for insurance, if applicable).
  • Any associated costs, including those for documentation, legal formalities, and insurance claims.

15.4. ScootON will assist with insurance claims, but the User is responsible for the deductible amount and any claim rejection due to user negligence.

16. Payment Gateway and Transactions

16.1. ScootON utilizes third-party payment gateways (e.g., GPay, Amazon Pay, Razorpay) to process transactions.
16.2. While these services are secure, ScootON is not liable for:

  • Transaction failures caused by the payment gateway.
  • Unauthorized transactions resulting from user negligence (e.g., sharing OTPs or passwords).

16.3. Users must ensure they use secure internet connections for payments.
16.4. In case of transaction issues, Users should:

  • Contact the payment gateway provider directly for resolution.
  • Inform ScootON support for assistance in tracing the issue.

16.5. ScootON reserves the right to refund amounts only after confirmation from the payment gateway of successful receipt or reversal of funds.
