Q1. Who can rent a scooter on ScootON?
To rent a scooter, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Aadhar Card and Driver’s License issued in India.
Q2. What happens if I don’t meet the eligibility criteria?
If you fail to meet the eligibility criteria, ScootON reserves the right to deny service.
2. Registration and Verification
Q3. What documents do I need to upload during registration?
You need to upload your Aadhar Card and Driver’s License during the registration process.
Q4. Is document verification done online or in person?
Verification is done in person at the time of scooter pickup. You must bring the original Aadhar Card and Driver’s License for verification.
Q5. What happens if there are discrepancies in my documents?
If any discrepancies are found, ScootON staff may deny the handover of the scooter.
3. Booking and Payment
Q6. How do I book a scooter?
Bookings can be made directly through the ScootON app, subject to bike availability.
Q7. Is there a minimum rental duration?
Yes, the minimum rental duration is one day.
Q8. What payment options are available?
You can pay through GPay, Amazon Pay, Razorpay, or other available payment methods on the app.
Q9. Can I cancel my booking? Will I get a refund?
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the rental start time will receive a full refund.
No refund will be provided for cancellations made within 24 hours of the rental start time, except the deposit for the bike paid by you.
Once the cancellation is approved you will get the refund will be credited in 6 hours, on a working day, and in case of bank holidays next day in 6 hours.
Q10. How do I handle payment failures?
If a payment fails, contact the payment gateway provider. You can also inform ScootON support for assistance.
4. Scooter Handover and Pickup
Q11. What should I bring when picking up the scooter?
Bring the original copies of your Aadhar Card and Driver’s License for verification.
Q12. Can someone else pick up the scooter on my behalf?
No, only the registered user with verified documents can pick up the scooter.
5. User Responsibilities
Q13. What are my responsibilities as a renter?
You must:
• Use the scooter responsibly and follow all traffic laws.
• Wear a helmet and ensure safety during the ride.
• Return the scooter in the same condition as received.
Q14. Am I responsible for damages or traffic violations?
Yes, you are liable for any damages caused to the scooter and for traffic violations or fines incurred during the rental period.
6. Insurance and Liability
Q15. Is the scooter insured?
Yes, all scooters come with comprehensive insurance coverage. However, you are responsible for the deductible amount and damages not covered under the insurance policy.
Q16. Will ScootON cover personal injury or third-party claims?
No, ScootON is not liable for personal injuries, loss of belongings, or third-party claims arising from the use of the scooter.
7. Breakdown and Support
Q17. What should I do if the scooter breaks down?
- For major breakdowns, immediately contact ScootON support via the app or helpline.
- For minor issues, such as flat tires, you are expected to manage repairs independently.
Q18. Will ScootON reimburse repair costs?
ScootON will not reimburse expenses for breakdowns caused by user negligence.
8. Theft and Security
Q19. What should I do if the scooter is stolen?
- Report the theft immediately to the nearest police station and provide a copy of the FIR to ScootON.
- Inform ScootON via the app or helpline within 2 hours of the incident.
Q20. Am I liable for the theft of the scooter?
Yes, you are responsible for the market value of the scooter (after accounting for insurance) and any associated costs, including documentation and legal formalities.
9. Termination and Suspension
Q21. Can my account be suspended?
Yes, ScootON reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of terms, fraudulent behavior, or abuse of services.
Q22. How can I terminate my account?
You can terminate your account by contacting ScootON customer support, provided all outstanding dues are cleared.
10. Payment Gateway and Transactions
Q23. Are payments on ScootON secure?
Yes, ScootON uses secure third-party payment gateways. However, users must ensure they use secure internet connections for transactions.
Q24. What happens if an unauthorized transaction occurs?
ScootON is not liable for unauthorized transactions caused by user negligence, such as sharing OTPs or passwords.
Q25. How do I resolve payment-related issues?
• Contact the payment gateway provider for resolution.
• Inform ScootON support for assistance in tracing the issue.
11. General Policies
Q26. Can I sublet the scooter to someone else?
No, subletting or renting the scooter to a third party is strictly prohibited.
Q27. Can I use the scooter for stunts or racing?
No, scooters must not be used for stunts, racing, or any illegal activities.
Q28. What should I do if I exceed the scooter’s weight capacity?
Overloading the scooter beyond its prescribed capacity is prohibited and can lead to damages for which you will be liable.
12. Dispute Resolution
Q29. How are disputes resolved?
All disputes will be governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Mumbai will have exclusive jurisdiction.
Q30. Is ScootON liable for unforeseen events?
No, ScootON is not responsible for service disruptions caused by natural disasters, strikes, or other unforeseen events.
